Our new author is Mo Willems. He writes about the pigeon, elephant, and piggie (among other stories). Right now we're trying to get through all 25 elephant and piggie books. We check them off as we go! The children really seem to like them and are reading them over and over in our reading space. Mo Willems is a pretty funny guy, which the children will learn next week.
We started a history unit. It kicked off with sorting images of items from the past, present, and future. The children seemed pretty interested in how people used to live in old times. Phones used to be attached to a wall! We'll talk about how people used to get around, how they spent their days, and what life was like for children. We'll get into old forms of media and eventually watch some silent movie clips! The word of the day on Friday was "ancient" and many of the children were convinced Star Wars was an ancient movie. So we've got some work to do...
