Explorers - 12/23/22

 Greetings Explorer Families!

What a busy week!

We collected 110 pairs of mittens and gloves. We are so appreciative of your support.

We enjoyed  spirit week; pajamas, blue & white, dressing as our favorite song, staying cozy in our favorite flannel, and holiday sweaters.

Dr. Cheryl taught us to play the dreidel game and helped us understand more about Hanukkah. We compared Hanukkah to other festivals of light; Diwali, Kwanzaa, and Christmas,

We celebrated the Winter Solstice. On the darkest day of the year, we shared ways we can share our inner light as we “say, make, or do” random acts of kindness for others. Ask your child to tell you about Hygge. It is pronounced “hoo-guh.”

We also  read a variety of Gingerbread stories and constructed paper bag gingerbread houses. (Ask your child about the Gingerbread Girl!)

Explorers also created gifts for their families. If your child has been under the weather in the last week or two, you will receive a New Year gift in January.

Thank you for all of your warm wishes and thoughtful messages. Our hearts are full. We sincerely hope you enjoy your break and treasure some rest and family time.  We are so grateful for your students and can't wait to start 2023 with them!
