This week in ELA we started a unit on character traits. We read through some fiction stories to pick out different traits and evidence we could find about our main characters. We finished our spelling unit this week and will get one more list assigned before winter break. We completed our mid-year reading checks. Only a few adjustments were made to reading groups and all groups moved up to their next level! :)  Standards covered: RL.3.1-10, RI.3.1-10, RF.3.3-4, RL.4.1-10, RI.4.1-10, RF.4.3-4 In Science this week we continued to work on our salmon flip book research. We researched predators, habitat, food, and interesting facts. Each student also came up with a question they had about salmon that they wanted to find the answers to. Some questions included: Do salmon drink water? (yes!),  How do salmon know how to get back to the place they were born to spawn? (Scientists think they can remember smells and sense magnetic fields to guide them home.), How far can salmon travel in their lifetime? (Up to 1,000 miles to find food)  Standards Covered: 3-LS2-1, 3-LS3-1,2, 3-LS4-1,2.3.4 -Ms. Jamie
