We made it to break! I know our party was supposed to happen on Friday, but we will postpone it until the next week of school. I made a new sign-up if you want to come hang out with us, or you could just tell me. https://www.signupgenius.com/go/30E0F4BA9AC2FA5F58-holiday3
This week we had a lot of fun listening to music and experimenting with the record player. Did you know you can hear the music from using a piece of paper shaped like a cone? You stick the cone on the spinning record and hear the vibrations and music through the paper! We did that on Wednesday. We've been listening to Nat King Cole, The Andrews Sisters, Cinderella, Sly and the Family Stone, George Gershwin, and various other artists. It's pretty cool seeing the children enjoy music in a new way. And considering we're learning a lot about history, this is perfect timing!
If you haven't been told all about the pigeon and his antics, you're missing out. The character by Mo Willems is so sneaky he hides in every single book Mo illustrates. Even if the book is about someone else! If you own any of his books, the pigeon is in there somewhere. Speaking of Mo Willems, a parent shared with me that there is a pretty cool exhibit in Grand Rapids dedicated to him. Check it out! It's only open for a limited time, so get it in while you can. https://www.grcm.org/mowillems
Things to talk about from the week:
- Silent movies (The Lion's cage)
- Dr. Cheryl and Chanukah
