We spent the week thinking about obstacle courses and putting our ideas on force and motion to work! I gave the children a few challenges. First we all worked together to get the ball around the room using various tools and appendages. Working as a team the group used tools, their feet, and their heads! They then later made a functional path for a marble to travel using citiblocks. There were obstacles and challenges with the materials, but they figured it out in their small groups.
Our fairy-tale stories continue with Little Red Riding Hood, Tselane, and Hu Gu Po. Each story involved a young girl and a cunning animal with sharp teeth. We compared the stories using a Venn Diagram and discussed the vocabulary words from the stories.
Parent-teacher conferences are going to be on the 24th (a half day for students). These conferences are optional, but also a great time to bring up concerns or discuss plans for the next year. If you would like to sign up, click on the link. They can be in-person or through Zoom.
