In Kindergarten, students were working on louds and softs as well as identifying rhythm and beats. Students were creating organizing sounds by rhythm for Berne Bee.

1st-2nd Grade, students were identifying various meters by strong and weak beats. We were identifying the elements of music in the Carnival of Animals. Students were comparing articulations such as legato vs, staccato, We finished the lion, the cuckoo, and we are now working on the donkey.

In 3rd and 4th grade, we were working on how to take care of recorders, history of recorders. Students are working on lower fingers with both E and D. Students should be working on all songs up to their Green Belt It's Raining.

In 5th-6th grade, students are learning about Javanese and Balinese gamelan. We created our own gamelan and played a slendro scale today (6-1-2-3-5-6-1) also sounds like (La-Do-Re-Mi-Sol-La-Do). Students were playing a pelog 1-2-3-5-6-7 scale and learned about wayang kulit which is Javanese shadow puppets.

In 7th-8th grade, students are working on making ukuleles. They glued and drilled screws for the tuners.  We are learning why sandpapering wood increases the quality of the tone.
