This week in ELA we discussed the differences between myths and legends. We read some examples and picked out story elements such as natural phenomenon, heroic qualities, problems and solutions. We finished up our spelling units this week and will get new lists next week.  This week in science we learn how volcanoes form due to plate tectonics. We looked at how quickly they can change the landscape and how scientists are still learning about them. We also talked about all the other natural hazards that occur on earth. We classified them into two groups; tectonic hazards and climatic hazards.  -Ms. Jamie
