Music 6/9/2023

Music: Week of June 5th-9th

I  hope that everyone had a wonderful week. Our last day of music is Tuesday, June 13th.

Borrowed band instruments are due on Monday 6/12/23.

Younger Grades:

In Kindergarten, students were learning campfire songs and reviewing highs vs. lows, quiet vs. loud, and solfege.

1st-2nd Grade, students are learning camp songs and reviewing various dynamics, rhythms, beat vs. no beat. Students also went over solfege topics like scales and arpeggios.

In 3rd and 4th grade, students were learning about the history of the recorder and how recorder are made. Students learned about soprano, alto, tenor, and bass recorder.

In 5th-6th grade, students are learning about Japanese music and played dulcimers to represent the koto in a pentatonic scale.

In 7th-8th grade, students are learning about the A Major chord and A Major Seventh chord. They applied their knowledge of the D Major chord and we created a I-V chord progression to Chasing Cars.

I highly recommend students take advantage of our musicplayonline.com subscription. The student code is c211732. This is the last week to take advantage of this resource for students learning ukulele.

Band:

Thank you so much parent for volunteering to bring in food and utensils. Borrowed band instruments are due on Monday, June 12th.

Have a wonderful week,
