Hello Innovator Families!
August is in the books! This week in ELA we began our word of the week study. Every week will begin with a Greek or Latin root and we will practice our presentation skills introducing vocabulary skills to our peers. First round of presentations went great!
In Social Studies, we learned about the history of Labor Day and labor unions. We watched a clip of local news about the UAW contract votes coming up next week with the Big 3. We also simulated negotiations at the table with our own demands of "labor" and "management". Each group of Students and Administration put forth demands and negotiated them into an agreement. I was really impressed with their participation.
