This week in ELA we were able to introduce our computer reading center and explore the site EPIC reading. We compared and contrasted two different books and had a "free write" topic in our journals. Students are doing well with balancing their independent work and small reading groups with the teacher.

In science this week we continued with our weathering and erosion and rock unit. We were able to look at a canyon that has many different layers of fossils. We came to the conclusion that this area of land has greatly changed over time. It started as an ocean and changed to forest, back to water and to a dessert. The students were able to trace out the layers and make conclusions based on evidence! :)
