Hello Innovator Families!
This past Tuesday, 4 representative Innovators addressed the school board and received unanimous approval for our end of year trip! The trip will be on June 8-9. We encourage ALL Innovators to attend because these trips are only offered every other year. The trip, including tour bus, hotel, admissions, bike rental, and all meals is between $450-510 (depending on room occupancy) per person. Parent chaperones (willing to monitor!) are welcome. A non-refundable deposit of $50 per person attending is due by Friday, Oct 28 to make the reservation. Our first fundraiser will begin Oct. 3. By May 1st, we will have had 7 full months to save, earn, plan for this fun trip!
IMPORTANT DATES COMING UP!
On Monday, Oct 3rd, right after school at 3:45, you are invited to Ms. Jenni's classroom for a parent & student information session about the Mackinaw trip. Bring all your questions. We will have "The World's Best Chocolate" bars ready to be taken and sold. Sellers earn 40% profit on their sales. This optional fundraiser will run all the way up to our December break.
On Wednesday, Oct 5th at 9am, we are welcoming guest speaker Fargel Amayo. Mr. Amayo is owner of Gotham Comics in Livonia. He was featured this week in a Hometown Life newspaper article. He will be sharing his love of the comic genre and his entrepreneurial spirit. Parents are welcome to attend after checking in the office that morning.
In ELA, we have moved on to drafting our Superhero/Villain narratives from our completed story organizers. Draft writing is due Monday, so please check-in with your Innovator about their stories.
In Science, we have begun looking at kinetic energy and particles.
