Innovators - 9/9/22

Hello Innovator Families,

In ELA we took our 1st of 2 beginning-of-the-year assessments. We also read more into our novel, Pax.

In science, our simulation of being a lab tasked with determining a procedure to count the drops of frosting necessary to fill an oreo, was successful. We were able to come to a close average, dismissing outliers, once our procedures produced repeatable trials. The fictitious company rewarded us with cookies! We are now using our data keeping skills to create visual graphs and charts.

Pre-Covid, it was established that the 7th & 8th graders would take an end-of-the-year trip to Mackinac. This year we are excited to reinstate the experience. We began brainstorming with the students this week about how to make this a reality. They will need to present their ideas to obtain official permission from the BLS Board of Directors. We will have solid details at the end of September AFTER our student representatives have received permission from the Board. Costs, dates and details will be available then.
