Investigators - 9/9/22

 Hello All,

This week in Math we worked on completing a few math worksheets together at my table in their small groups. Students received their first Mental Math booklet called “Back to School” that they will work on during Math Rotations. We were able to begin three of our four Math Rotations this week. Students are continuing to work on their IXL Diagnostics and working on the recommendations that are in our Technology Math Rotation.

We also began the Reading portion of the NWEA test.

The standards that were used were: 3.OA.D.9, 4.OA.A.3, 4.OA.C.5

In Social Studies we have been working on being able to Identify questions that historians ask in examining the past in Michigan. Such as What happened? When did it happen? Who was involved? How and why did it happen?

The standards that were used were:  4.G1.0.1

Thank you,

Ms. Chantel

I was out sick a few days this week, but I am back now and I was super impressed with some of the notes the subs left me! The students did a great job following our schdule and being great helpers for the sub! :) This week the class took their first NWEA reading test. The scores from this will go out with our first report cards. We use this assesment to help up guide lessons and activities for the students. We will also be starting our first reading groups next week. I have taken time to read with each student and do some running record assesments to see what they best reading levels for each will be. We also began Duolingo for Spanish this week. This program is done once a week to start Spanish exposure for our students. In science this week, students completed our first unit on the different types of scientists. They were able to learn about many types of science and what each does at their job. They did a small research activity to learn more about some famous scientists of the past. -Ms. Jamie
