Innovators - 11/4/22

 Hello Innovator Families,

This week in ELA we made it to the halfway mark of The House on Mango Street.

In Science we explored futuristic synthetic materials.  We researched and crafted presentations to explain the different options out there.  On Monday, we will present to each other and hone our public speaking skills.  Ask you students about graphene, aerogel and self-healing concrete!

Conferences are November 18th.  You may attend in person OR on Zoom.  Your student is always welcome.  Sign up here: Conference Sign Up  Zoom address and password are on the Sign-up Genius form.

Field Trip News:
Here is a link to make online payments: 2023 Mackinac Island Field Trip.  The next $50 installment is due December 1. Cash is accepted.

Chocolate is still available to sell to help your student defray their costs. Those that have taken boxes to sell, please return ASAP.

A new fundraising opportunity is available  Dec 9 at the 1st annual Student Holiday Fair.  Any students that have a table to sell crafts, baked goods, services (snow-shoveling, dog-walking) etc, will keep their own profit for their trip amount. Permissions slips for this event were handed out today and need parent signature by Nov. 7

An all school field trip form also went home. Chaperones are encouraged to drive their child as bus space is very limited.  A payment link is here: USAHockey trip  Forms are due Nov 17.

We SYMPATHIZE with you and the amount of forms coming at you! (You should see Miss Jenni's desk-we have to keep track of them!)  These extra experiences for your kiddos are worth it!! And we appreciate the extra effort it is for you 😍

We also started Reading Buddies this week!  Our Jr. Explorer friends were very welcoming to us!
