Junior Explorers - 11/4/22

This week in science we worked a lot with a balance scale.  We talked about weight and compared objects.  We'll work with a few more science tools next week and then start talking about animals.

In other science/social studies news, we started talking about the difference between wants and needs.  What are the things we need to survive?  This is also a great time for debating and sharing opinions.  Yes, everyone needs water, food, and shelter, but how about books?  Family?  Flowers?  These ideas will lead us into our annual service learning project where our school "adopts" a family in need and we collect items for them.  Stay tuned for more details as we get closer to the holidays.

Reading buddies has started!  Once a week the Innovators (7th and 8th grade) come down to read with us.  Our first meeting went great!  See pictures below.
