Junior Explorers - 10/14/22

This week our fables have been put on a slight hold while we spent time getting to know some of the adults in school.  I have invited some familiar faces into our classroom for meeting times.  Every day the children see different adults doing various things and they aren't too sure who they are or what they do.  This week Ms. Jen (principal), Ms. Tiffany (Special ed) and Ms. Keri (technology) came into the classroom.  The children practiced coming up with questions to get to know each adult.  Some popular questions the liked to ask:

  • What is your name?
  • Do you like any treats?
  • What classroom do you go to?
  • Do you have a cat or a dog?
  • How old are you?
I have to say, I was pretty impressed with the thoughtful questions they came up with.  Hopefully once they get to know the adults more, the children will have a better understanding of how they can help and who to go to for certain things.

In social studies we are continuing to talk about how to be good citizens.  Making good choices, following rules, being helpful, and working hard.  The children are enjoying some videos I made a while back during the shutdown when all I had to teach with was a toy box and cell phone.  I used the toys to act out scenes so we can discuss them as a class.  So if your child comes home talking about Ms. Sarah's basement toys, that's what they mean.

I promised double pictures this week because I forgot last week.  So here they are!
