You might have noticed a packet sent home from our history unit on citizenship. If you didn't see it, it might still be here. This is a collection of the paper work the children completed in class with Ms. Amy. We would discuss things as a class, do activities, and show what we know on paper. We will be starting our new social studies unit on history concepts next!
A few times a week we read out of a chapter book. I mentioned earlier that we are reading about Junie B. Jones. She is a kindergartner who navigates through school life and gets into mischief. The book we finished on Friday had Junie B. hiding in school. She had a bathroom emergency and called the police! We talked as a class about if she made the right decision and how her choice affected other people. This is the first story of many, so feel free to ask your child what shenanigans Junie B. has gotten herself into lately!
Whole school field trip is coming up in December. Just in case you didn't see the note of it in the school email, here is an optional payment link: 12-14-2022 Whole School Field Trip - Payment Link & Info
Parent-teacher conferences are November 18th. I'm just putting that bug in your ear now. I'll send out a sign-up link before then. It can either be in-person or online, so you will have that option.
Things to talk about from this week:
- Moving the shelves and finding all the toys!
- Eating lunch in the classroom
- Spider math (legs and eyes)
- What does a skull do?
- Collecting milkweed seeds
