On Friday your child might have taken home a 3-D creation they made with recycled materials. A few times a month with the help of Ms. Amy we will take out the material shelf and get creating! We're using items like packaging paper, foam pieces, string, and paper towel tubes. We're getting used to creating whatever is on our minds now, but later on we will create with a specific purpose in mind. Maybe having to do with out science curriculum! If you happen to have any "bits and pieces" that you think would be really cool for us to use, we'll totally take them off your hands! No need to buy anything, as we're trying to focus on the idea of repurposing materials. Some ideas:
- corks
- pipe cleaners
- fruit netting
- spools
- cardboard tubes
- tissue paper
- puff balls
- egg cartons
- styrofoam packaging
- bubble wrap
Parent-teacher conferences are November 18th. You have the option to do it in person or through Zoom. Just sign up and make a comment to let me know which way you'd prefer. If none of these times work for you, we can work something out, don't worry! Here is the link to sign up:

This week we started our author study with Dr. Seuss. We've read a few of his books and found something in common between all of them. He makes books that rhyme and he makes creatures that have never existed before. We'll continue reading his books and look for more similarities as we figure out his writing style.
Things to talk about from the week:
- Being a woodpecker, quail, and raccoon
- Reading buddies
- Our 5 senses
- Tape hands! (how we pick up little pieces of paper)
