Ms. Jenn's Math and Science Class -
This week: We learned how to compare/order fractions, decimals into fractions and fractions into decimals, and how to group symbols to solve a math problem. For science students chose and presented a thing to research and write an argument including evidence to explain why that thing was living or nonliving.
Next week: We will continue exploring living and nonliving things while planning and carrying out an investigation. For math we will compare and order fractions and evaluate numerical expressions using the order of operations.
Ms. Sarah's ELA and Social Studies Class-
This week: We have been working on our celebrities whom have first went through failure to reach success.
Next week: We will be working on our social studies projects. 6th graders are making a game about migration. 5th graders are picking an ancient African tribe to present. As a class, next week, we will begin using ClassDojo. Thank you to those of you who already have joined. Please join using this link:
We are also in the process of working towards on Winter Holiday Party. Your student will bring home the name of the name drawn for their Secret Santa by 12/9/2022. The gift should be around $3. Please make sure to have your cookie recipes sent back by Monday of next week. Also, the day of the party, your student will need to bring 2 dozen of the cookies that you provided the recipe for. This allows me time to put the individual books together. We also still have slots in the Sign-Up Genius for the party. Please take a minute to look and see if there is anything you would be interested in helping out with. Here is the link:
