Innovators - 1/13/23

Hello Innovator Families and Happy New Year!!

We're jumping right into 2023--NWEA testing has started school wide with Math this week and ELA next week.

MACKINAC TRIP:  The February payment is coming!  February and March are the largest and last of the payments.  $150 per participant is due FEBRUARY 1.

In ELA, we have begun examining the 1960s and information to get us ready to read the novel, The Outsiders.

In Science, we have begun force, friction and motion.

In Social Studies, students began sharing their presentations on the Ancient Civilizations they have been researching. After each presentation, they engage their audience in an origial game they created to reinforce their learning about their civiliation. These presentations will continue into next week. Ask your Innovator how their presentations and games are going and what they have learned about one another's civilizations.

In honor of Dr. Marin Luther King's life and work, we worked together with our 3rd and 4th grade buddies from Ms. Jamie's and Ms. Chantel's class today to create a timeline of some of his quotes. Students enjoyed working together to color and assemble these quotes. Ask your Innovator which quote they worked on today and what it means. Look for our colorful timeline in the main hallway next week!
