This week in ELA we reviewed some of our routines to refresh our memories after the break. We did a partner activity where we got to reading an article on the Titanic. We started a new unit in spelling this week and will finish it up next week. We will be taking our NWEA reading test on 1/24/23. Next week we will start our portfolio meetings with each student so we can review our fall scores and what goals we set for ourselves. This week in science we learned about the fish tank jobs that we are going to rotate from now until our release in May. All of our salmon are now in their fry stage and have started eating fish food. We will now have to monitor the water quaility each day, make water changes as needed, keep the tank clean, and monitor water temperature each day. We have also started our first earth science unit on weather and climate. This week we compared the two and learned how they are similar and different. On Friday we were able to get together with our 7th and 8th grade buddies to learn more about Martin Luther King Jr. Each group was given some quotes from his different speeches to learn about. We created a timeline of these speeches and hung them on the wall in the main hallway. Here are some pictures from our day! :) -Ms Jamie
