Investigators - 1/20/23

 Hello All,

On Tuesday, January 17th, we took the Math portion of the Winter NWEA test.


In our Math Rotations this week we have been working on: 


Mental Math: In this rotation, students have been working independently on their Mental Math Book called “Addition and Subtraction.” 


At the Teacher’s Desk: In this rotation, students have been working on their assigned pages in their “Go Math” workbooks, Multiplication Facts and Strategies AND Multiply 2-Digit Numbers AND Divide by 1-Digit Numbers


Technology: In this rotation, students have been working on their “Go Math/Think Central” assignments or IXL on their Chromebooks. 


Have Fun With Games/Red Bin Work: In this rotation, students have been working on assigned pages in their workbooks or worksheets on various addition/subtraction skills or answering fact fluency questions in order to take their turn in the games played on Fun Fridays.


The standards that were used were: .OA.A.4, 3.NBT.A.3, 4.NBT.B.6


In Social Studies we have been working on using geographic tools and technologies, stories, songs, and pictures to answer geographic questions about the United States. Assess the positive and negative effects of human activities on the physical environment of the United States.  


The standards that were used were: 4.G1.0.4, 4.G5.0.1

This week in ELA we worked on some of our listening comprehension using read to me books on EPIC or storyline online. We finished up our spelling unit and will receive new words next week. Since we will be taking our reading NWEA test this coming Tuesday, we also had portfolio meetings to review the goals we set for ourselves in reading. Please make sure your students have a good breakfast and are well rested next Tuesday for our test! :)  Standards Covered:  RL.3.1-10, RL.4.1-10, W.3.3, W.3.10,L.3.2, L.3.4, L.3.5, L.3.6, L.4.2, L.4.4, L.4.4, L.4.6, SL.3.2, RI.3.10, SL.4.2, RI.4.10 This week in science we continued our weather and climate unit. We looked at the four main climate zones (Arid/desert, Temperate, Tropical, and polar) . Ask me about each climate zone and which climate zone we live in!. Standards covered: 3-ESS2-1, 3-ESS2-2, 4-ESS2-2, 4-ESS3-2 - Ms Jamie
