Ms. Jenn's Math and Science Class -

This week:    We continued to practice how to turn an improper fraction into a mixed number and how to add and subtract fractions with the same denominators.  We also learned how to find a common denominator when adding and subtracting fractions.  We still need lots of practice with it!!  Students started to present to the class their  ecosystems presentations which include producers, primary and secondary consumers, decomposers, and examples of different kind of eaters in this ecosystem.  We will finish presentations next week!

Next week:   We will be focusing on multiplying and dividing fractions in math and begin body systems in science when presentations are completed.

Ms. Sarah's ELA and Social Studies Class-

This week:  Our students have been working well on informative readings and writings. The 6th graders have also been working on cultures and understanding how resources are affected by it. The 5th graders are also working the original colonies. Ms. Jenni came into our class to discuss what it means to be a Global Citizen too.

Next week:
We will begin presenting our culture projects. We will also continue working on our informative writings.

*On Valentines Day, our students can bring valentine cards in. However, we will really just keep the day pretty laid back with hot cocoa as a treat.

** We are also going to begin collecting breakfast foods for a local foodbank. I will send more information home on that next week.

*If you haven't begun using Class Dojo, please make sure to sign up. It is the way I will communicate extra information on the class. Also, pictures will be shared!
