In Social Studies we have been working on describing how positive (e.g., responding to a sale, saving money, earning money) and negative (e.g library fines, overdue video rental fees) incentives influence behavior in a market economy.

The standards that were used were: 4. E1.0.3

Thank you,

Ms. Chantel

This week in ELA we started a Folktale, Fairy Tale, and Fables unit. Students were able to explore some of these stories on EPIC and practice writing their own in their journals. We compared each and looked into the different story elements. We completed a spelling unit and will receive new words next week. We will also be continuing with some one-on-one reading checks and adjusting any reading groups as needed.  Standards covered: RL.3.2, RL.3.3, Rl.4.2, RL.4.3, RL.4.6 This week we also finished our Great mail race letters and prepared our surveys to be sent out to each of the fifty states. This took a little longer than expected, but this was such a fun small project that the students enjoyed while also working on more writing standards! They are all looking forward to hearing back from each state! Next week we will be moving back to science and starting our new weathering and erosion units.  Standards covered: W.3.4, W.3.5, W.3.6, W.3.10, W.4.4, W.4.5, W.4.6, W.4.10 -Ms. Jamie
