Music: Week of May 29th-June 2nd
Thank you for attending our Summer Concert on Thursday.
I hope that everyone had a wonderful week. Music is always on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.
Younger Grades:
In Kindergarten, we performed our Summer Concert. The kindergarteners sang Space Worms for the concert, focusing on decrescendos and high vs. low sounds.
1st-2nd Grade, students performed our Summer concert.. Students were also working on their concert piece Shake It all week.
In 3rd and 4th grade, we performed their Summer Concert on recorders. They performed Hot Cross Buns, Gently Sleep, Merrily We Roll Along, Ode to Joy, and Hot Cross Buns.
In 5th-6th grade, students performed their Summer Concert on boomwhackers. They were working on Scoo Be Doo which is based upon scat singing and contains elements of syncopation.
In 7th-8th grade, students performed their Summer Concert on ukuleles. They were working on Sweet Home Alabama. We will be continuing to explore the ukulele until the end of the year, so that students can continue to play their ukuleles at home throughout the summer.
I highly recommend students take advantage of our musicplayonline.com subscription. The student code is c211732.
Band:
Congratulations to Beginning Band and Advanced Band with their performance on Thursday! Beginning Band performed Hot Cross Buns, Au Claire De Lune, and London Bridge. Advanced Band performed Finlandia and Attack of the Garden Gnomes.
