Junior Explorers 9/1/2023

With Ms. Sarah unexpectedly out this week, there was a slight change in assessment plans, but other than that things went as normal!  Ms. Jasmine and Ms. Rachel stepped in to cover her role with Ms. Amy and Ms. Raegan in the room each day as well.

The nursery rhyme unit continued this week with 3 familiar tales all about people named Jack.  I wonder if you can think of which 3 the children talked about?  The children discussed new vocabulary, acted out scenes, and found connections.  Ms. Sarah helped from home by making videos that the teachers played during afternoon meeting.

One little reminder I heard about from this week for families is to please keep animals and toys at home.  This week there were a lot of toys brought in to school which were then misplaced and sometimes a cause of conflict.  We try to remind the children to keep their toys at home, so if you notice any sneaking into backpacks just remind them!  Thank you.

I wasn't there this week, so I don't have any little moments to ask your children about at home.  Ms. Amy sent me pictures with details below!  I should be back next week.

Ms. Amy worked with the children on taking a close look in a mirror and drawing self portraits.

Doing some light landscaping!  The storm blew down some branches so our class helped move the big sticks to a safer spot.

During art class we talked about texture with crayon rubbings and cutting out a circle.

Watching Ms. Sarah on screen!  She made learning videos for us to continue lessons as planned!
