Junior Explorers - 9/16/22

Your children might have mentioned watching something on the TV in school.  I brought out the TV this week to watch some science videos.  Last week we watched all about how bees make honey and this week we watched how ice cream and candy is made.  So no, we aren't exactly watching cartoons, but we are learning really cool things!

We had a tornado drill this week.  So far we've had a fire drill and a tornado drill.  The other drill we practice is a lockdown drill.  It's kind of a tricky subject, but I approach it as if there is a danger in the hall we need to hide from.  Most of the time the children come up with the idea of a wild jungle animal.  We need to stay in a quiet corner and pretend we're not there so we stay safe.  I expect that practice will be happening in the coming weeks.

Here are a few quick things to talk about with your children.  Let's see what they remember!

  • A new student
  • Working on the computers in the hallway
  • The space toys
  • The puzzle ball in science area

Pizza day!
