Investigators - 10/7/22

The investigators will be doing a fundraiser for our "Save the Bats" Project. We will be hosting a bake sale at the trunk or treat. All funds will go toward buying bat house kits for the students to build. In our Math Rotations this week we have been working on: 


Mental Math: In this rotation, students have been working independently on their Mental Math Book called “Back to School.”


At the Teacher’s Desk: In this rotation, students have been working on their assigned pages in their “Go Math” workbooks,using compatible numbers and rounding to estimate differences, subtraction worksheets/skills and adding 3-digit numbers.


Technology: In this rotation, students have been working on their “Go Math/Think Central” assignments or IXL on their Chromebooks. 


Have Fun With Games/Red Bin Work: In this rotation, students have been working on assigned pages in their workbooks or worksheets on various addition/subtraction skills or answering fact fluency questions in order to take their turn in the games played on Fun Fridays.


The standards that were used were: 3.NBT.A.2, 3.OA.D.8, 4.NBT.B.4


In Social Studies we have been working on being able to use cardinal and intermediate directions to describe the relative location of significant places in the United States.Identify and describe the characteristics and purposes (e.g., measure distance, determine relative location, classify a region) of a variety of geographic tools and technologies (e.g., globe, map, satellite image). Use geographic tools and technologies, stories, songs, and pictures to answer geographic questions about the United States.


The standards that were used were: 4.G1.0.2,4.G1.0.3,4.G1.0.4,

This week in ELA we worked on retelling stories using only the most important parts. We met in reading groups to create a portfolio for the school year where we will keep our best work and set goals in reading to keep track of. We started a new spelling unit. Standards covered:  RL.3.1-10, RI.3.1-10, RF.3.3-4, RL.4.1-10, RI.4.1-10, RF.4.3-4 In science this week we have been working on our "Save the Bats" project. We researched different types of bats and compared and contrasted them. We also started to learn why bats are so important to our environment and why we should want them around.  Standards covered:  W.3.7, W.4.7, SL.3.3, SL.4.3, 3-LS2-1, 3-LS4-3 -Ms. Jamie
