Performance Announcement: We will have a Christmas Concert on December 16th at 2:00pm at Branch Line School. Whether it is in the sanctuary or in the Hub is TBA. Grades K-6 will be performing, 7th-8th grade will be working on a STEM project.
In Kindergarten, students are working on identifying opposites of fast and slow (Adagio and Allegro). They are working on their Christmas concert music Jingly.
Older grades:
In 3rd and 4th grade, students are studying harmony with their concert piece Snow. The music is available on Google Classroom for students to practice under Investigators.
In 5th-6th grade, we are working on our African unit and learning a piece called Siyahamba for the Christmas concert.
In 7th-8th grade, we are working on time periods/genres of music. Students learned about Cole Porter and Billie Holiday and the impact the Dust Bowl and the Great Depression had on music.
Band will be inside Jenn's room, she is the 5th and 6th grade teacher.
We are using Essential Elements Book 1 this year.
Students are memorizing their Bb scale, Eb scale and arpeggio. Students are working on Holiday Shortcuts, Jolly Old St. Nick, and Up on the Housetop.
