Navigators - 1/13/23

  Navigator's 5th and 6th grade!!!  

Important Dates: 

January 13th- Half Day

January 16th-Martin Luther King Day NO SCHOOL

Ms. Jenn's Math and Science Class -

This week:  We learned about the mystery of lightning including different types of lightning.  We began learning about Ecosystems and food chains which we will continue next week.  In math we started focusing on simplifying, equivalent, improper fractions and mixed numbers.

Next week: We will keep exploring Ecosystems and Food Chains in science.  We will be taking the Math NWEA next week and focusing on adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing fractions for the next few weeks in math!

Ms. Sarah's ELA and Social Studies Class-

This week:  Our students have been learning the life of Martin Luther King Jr. They have also been learning about informational texts, and reading examples in order to become familiar with the features expected of such a text. We also have our NWEA testing for ELA. 

Next week:  
We will divide and conquer in social studies again as the fifth graders begin working on the 13 Colonies and the 6th graders will begin studying the effects of culture. They will also begin working on an informational writing assignment.
